The first module will be held in London, UK on the 4-6 October 2010. Module B will be held in Singapore on 11-13 March 2011 preceeding INSOL Singapore, INSOL's Annual Asia Pacific Rim Regional Conference. Participants of the Course, as part of the course have a free delegate place to attend INSOL Singapore which not only increases the learning experience of the course and helps build business networks for the future for the participants.
The last module will involve the students carrying out on-line training in a virtual court and in virtual negotiations for a restructuring plan involving multiple jurisdictions undertaken with the generous support of the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. This module takes place the 9-13 May 2011.
Admission is limited to a maximum of 20 candidates each year. By limiting the numbers, it should ensure academic excellence and good personal contact between students and faculty. Potential candidates must already hold a degree or equivalent to be considered for this programme and must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field. Participants will represent the different jurisdictions of the world. INSOL International is pleased to announce the second graduating class of the Global Insolvency Practice Course.
Richard Turton had a unique role in the formation and management of INSOL Europe, INSOL International, the English Insolvency Practitioners Association and R3, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals in the UK. In recognition of his achievements these four organisations jointly created an award in memory of Richard. The Richard Turton Award provides an educational opportunity for a qualifying participant to attend the annual INSOL Europe Congress which this year will be held in Vienna from 14 - 17 October.
- proven knowledge, competence and experience, including at European and/or international level, in insolvency law and practical cases of insolvency of banks and/or other financial institutions;
- ability to talk to relevant industry and public entities, willigness to commit time, neutrality and fair judgement;
- commitment to European issues and the internal market in financial services;
- interest in the improvement of the current arrangements for dealing with bank insolvency cases with an international dimension;
- good knowledge of written and spoken English;
- the need to strike a balance within the group of experts to the extent possible in terms of representativeness of applicants, gender and geographical origin.
